Values & Beliefs
Our Mission
The ultimate reason Shepherd Church exists is to do our part in carrying on Jesus’ mission of transforming the world through the Gospel. We fulfill that mission by reaching people and making disciples who Know, Serve, and Share Jesus.
Our Vision
To reach people where they are and shepherd them toward Jesus so they can experience the transformative love of Jesus, the Good Shepherd.
Our Strategy
To create a shepherding community that is living intentionally to KNOW, SERVE, and SHARE JESUS.
What We Believe
About God
About Jesus
We believe Jesus is God’s Son and the Savior of the world.
(John 3:16)
We believe Jesus died, was raised to life after three days, and will return to rescue us.
(1 Corinthians 15:3-4)
We believe salvation comes by grace through faith in Jesus.
(Romans 5:8-11)
About the Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit lives within every follower of Jesus and equips each follower for ministry. (John 16:5-15)
About the Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired Word of God and the final authority for all matters of faith. (2 Timothy 3:16)
About Humanity
We believe all people are created in God’s image and matter deeply to Him. Apart from Jesus Christ, all people are spiritually lost and because all are sinful in nature and deed, deserve the judgement of God.
(Romans 3:23)
About Salvation
We believe that salvation is a free gift from God, offered by His grace for the forgiveness of sins. It was made possible through the shed blood of Jesus Christ on the cross, which serves as full and sufficient payment for our sins. This gift is received by those who place their faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, asking Him to forgive their sins and lead their lives. (John 1:12, 14:6, Romans 5:1-2, 6:23, Ephesians 1:7, 2:8-9, Titus 3:5, 1 Peter 1:18-19)
About Baptism
About the Church
We believe the Church is the body and bride of Jesus on earth. (Acts 2:14-47)
About Life After Death
We believe death seals the eternal destiny of each person. The saved will inherit eternal life and the unsaved will experience eternal separation from God. (Romans 8:10-11)
